Happy Valentine’s Day all!
I loved this holiday already… but I REALLY love this holiday this year because I have a three and a half year old. Holidays with preschoolers are like holidays on crack.
First, we made minty powdered sugar candy hearts–
Cute, but tasted nothing like real conversation hearts. Plus, they never really hardened up. A fun way to use glittery edible sprinkles though.
Then, we made valentines for her class. As per teacher’s rules, we bought those $1 character valentines that you fold in a half & seal with a sticker. Boring. But, as a former teacher, I totally get the rule. Instead we focused our attention on the goody bags that go home with each kid.
I found this online, with a free printable, “So glad we’re in the same school.” Cute & clever. In fact, I saw on FB that a few of my friends (and their friends..) used the same one.
Last, I decided to try out some cake batter dip, the skinny version. And that was how I discovered a valentine for myself!
This dip is awesome! It’s “skinny” because you basically combine fat-free cool-whip, fat-free greek yogurt, and cake batter dry mix together. So, not only is it low/no-fat (is there fat in cake mix?), but it has protein in it. A dessert dip with protein?! You could eat it for dinner…
Happy V-Day, friends, go hug someone you care about!
