Ingredients for Chocolate Covered Swedish Fish
- 1- 3.6 oz packet, Swedish Fish
- 1 cup, chocolate chips
- 1 cup, white chocolate chips
- 12 OREO cookies
- variety of holiday sprinkles
- food-safe (edible ink) decorating pen, for ornaments
Recipe Tips!
- Be cautious when heating up the chocolate. If it gets too hot, it could change the texture of the chocolate. You can use a double-broiler, or if using the microwave, heat up in 30 second increments. It’s always better to heat it just a little bit and then stir, stir, stir to make it smooth.
- For a smooth coating of chocolate on the OREO Cookies, use a fork to lift out of the melted chocolate and allow it to drip the excess away for a few moments. You can also gently scrap the bottom of the OREO Cookie against the rim of the bowl to avoid getting “feet” on the bottom of the ornaments.
- Be sure to lay out the chocolate-dipped treats on wax paper for easy removal once the chocolate is set.
- You can use edible ink pens to decorate– or frosting or even a small paint brush and food coloring.
We love these fun, easy treats for a festive dessert or snack during the holiday season. It’s a no-bake recipe and the kids can help! Mine love to do the sprinkles. Have fun picking out different colors and textures to really make these treats pop!
Grab the Swedish Fish and OREO cookies from Walmart and let’s get decorating!
