Greek yogurt fruit dip
I was not an athlete growing up. I think there was a season of softball in junior high, and some swim team in high school, but that was mostly to get a tan. I was more of cheerleader/flag twirler type.
I work out pretty regularly now, but I have very little experience with team sports.
Therefore, I don’t really have a good idea of how to be prepared for sports. My husband has had to clue me in on how to buy the right equipment, deal with injuries, and keep the kids hydrated during practices and games.
INGREDIENTS NEEDED TO MAKE THESE FRUIT KABOBS FOR KIDS:
- 12 skewers
- strawberries
- mandarin oranges
- pineapple chunks
- grapes
- 3 cups, Greek yogurt, divided
- ¼ cup honey, divided
DIRECTIONS TO MAKE THESE FRUIT KABOBS FOR KIDS:
- Skewer fruit onto sticks, using a rainbow color order.
- In medium-sized bowl, mix honey into Greek yogurt.
- Scoop ¼ cup (eyeball it) Greek yogurt into individual containers.
- Dip away!
I have figured out that whole foods are the name of the game. Fruit makes a superstar snack after practices and games.
Skewering them makes it so much easier to pass out a rainbow of fruit bites. Besides, food is always tastier on a stick.
handy tools to make these skewers and dip even easier:
- skewers – wooden to toss when done, long for holding a lot of food, sturdy
- mini containers – hinged lid to keep track of easily, leak proof, dishwasher safe
And what makes this snack so special? The honey yogurt dipper, of course! Honey swirled in Greek yogurt… gives the kiddos some much-needed protein after leaving it all on the field. Trust me, you will be the snack parent of the season.
I serve the snack with the individual containers of yogurt. It’s the perfect sideline snack kit.
