Slow Cooker Rich Chocolate Pudding, made with marshmallow fluff and heavy cream for a warm, homemade pudding that’s deliciously rich and creamy.

    slow cooker pudding

I’m not kidding with that title. This is rich RICH chocolate pudding. Trust me, it tastes even better topped with some whipped cream or marshmallow fluff.

INGREDIENTS NEEDED TO MAKE SLOW COOKER RICH CHOCOLATE PUDDING:

    • 3 eggs
    • 2 cups, heavy cream
    • ½ teaspoon salt
    • ½ pound semisweet chocolate chips
    • ¼ cup marshmallow cream, such as Fluff
    • Optional: use add’t marshmallow cream or whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles for topping

HOW TO MAKE PUDDING IN THE SLOW COOKER:

    • In a medium slow cooker, whisk together the eggs, cream and salt. Add the chocolate chips, cover and set the slow cooker to high heat to melt, about 30 minutes; whisk until smooth.
    • Cook on low heat for another 30 minutes. Scrape down the slow cooker; whisk the pudding. Cook until set at the edges but loose in the center, 1 hour 15 minutes; whisk until smooth. Hold on the warm setting.
    • Just before serving, whisk the pudding.
    • Spoon into mugs or bowls and top with whipped or marshmallow cream and chocolate sprinkles.

I love the idea of a warm beverage or dessert heating up in the crockpot. It’s a break from the traditional soups, stews, or even (the super boring) baked chicken. Let’s put something fun in the slow cooker, shall we?

Very simple ingredients. Which is probably why it is so intensely chocolatey. Homemade chocolate pudding is less of the sugar and more straight-up chocolate flavor. It’s in a completely different category than pudding cups  or even ready-mix puddings.

handy tools to use when making this chocolate pudding:

    • slow cooker – timer, intelligent cooking, huge
    • ramekins – perfect portion, clean easily

See how thick? Don’t you just want to dive in?

Toss a few ingredients in the crockpot and watch it become your new favorite dessert. Add a scoop of ice cream or a brownie for extra credit. Seriously the best pudding slow cooker recipe ever!

Do you know if this could be doubled or even tripled? Large family who loves choc. pudding. Also, instead of serving warm can it be refrigerated and still taste good?
