To me, there is no better ice cream flavor than cake batter. A step up from vanilla, the taste is over-the-top delicious. Plus, there’s real cake pieces, and all the sprinkles! Lots and lots of sprinkles.
Having a child with a dairy intolerance means some adjustments in the treats and snacks I choose for my family. We want everyone to be included, and this frozen treat brings a smile to everyone’s face. Did I mention it’s no-churn?!
That’s right. Thanks to the magic of frozen bananas, you get the texture of real ice cream without adding dairy or even needing a fancy ice cream maker. Awesome, right?!
INGREDIENTS TO MAKE ICE CREAM THAT IS DAIRY FREE:
- 3 frozen bananas
- ½ cup, lactose free milk
- ¼ cup, (dairy free) yellow cake mix
- 1 ½ cup, yellow cake, prepared, cut into pieces
- 1 Tablespoon, rainbow sprinkles
- Optional toppings: hot fudge, whipped topping, sprinkles
HOW TO MAKE ICE CREAM THAT IS DAIRY FREE:
- Combine first three ingredients in a blender or food processor, mix until smooth.
- Pour batter into freezer-friendly container, layering it with cake pieces and sprinkles.
- Freeze for 1 hour, or until solid.
- Serve with desired toppings. Enjoy!
