A refreshing Cherry Pomegranate Daiquiri featuring fresh cherries & pomegranate seeds, pomegranate juice, and clear rum!
Cherry Pomegranate Daiquiri
Summer is the perfect time for cool drinks and patio nights. Actually, any night is the perfect night for a blended drink, but we all have our preferences. hee-hee
I love this drink combination, because it is not too sweet like some blended drinks can be. The agave just takes the edge off the tartness of the juice and fresh fruit, so that you have a flavorful, slightly sweetened beverage.
INGREDIENTS NEEDED TO MAKE A POMEGRANATE DAIQUIRI:
- ½ Cup Pomegranate Cherry Juice
- 2 tablespoon Pomegranate Arils (Seeds)
- 1 tablespoon Lime Juice
- ½ Cup Cherries (Pitted & Sliced)
- 4 oz. Bacardi White Rum (Any White Rum is fine!)
- 3 tablespoon Agave Nectar
- 3 Cups of Ice
- Garnish: Cherry, Lime Wedge, Mint Sprig (optional)
Quick Fact: Pomegranate Arils are the red juicy pearls found inside the pomegranate. Inside of the arils are the seeds, which are completely edible! So for this daiquiri you can throw them straight in to the blender, they mix up just fine. The seeds actually contain a high number of antioxidants!
HOW TO MAKE A POMEGRANATE DAIQUIRI:
- Wash cherries and remove seed and stem, slice in half lengthwise. Set aside.
- Place the ice in the blender.
- Pour in the Bacardi Rum.
- Add Pomegranate Arils & Cherries. Add lime juice.
- Next, add Agave Nectar & Pomegranate Cherry Juice.
- Place lid on. Blend well on high.
- Daiquiri is ready when everything is fully blended (A good rule of thumb is when you no longer hear any ice chunks swirling around and it’s all smooth!).
- Pour into glasses and garnish with a cherry, sprig of mint, & lime wedge.
Toss all your ingredients into your blender and blend it all up! If it gets too thick you can loosen it by adding a little more juice to the blender. Like wise if you think it’s too thin just gradually add more ice!
The agave can be substituted for any sweetener you’d like or have on hand: granulated sugar, brown sugar, simple syrup or even honey work just fine! Also, if you can’t find pomegranate cherry juice, you can mix plain pomegranate juice and cherry juice or just pomegranate juice.
Wanna make this a mock-tail ? Simply substitute extra pomegranate cherry juice or sparkling water for the rum! This sweet and slushy drink is just as refreshing on a hot summer day – rum or not!
