Air Fryer Donuts with Grands Biscuits
Using the air fryer to make donuts is literally what my air fryer was made for. I love foods that are fried in grease, and I really do enjoy making them at home. Donuts and chicken fingers are so great homemade, but I just dread filling a pan with grease and dealing with the mess.
Enter air fryer and I’m in love! The same great taste and quality food without the greasy mess. I do not believe for a second that they taste any different than if they were fried in grease. Air fryer recipes are my go to for sure!
Plus, you literally cut dough from a can and then put it in the machine. It. Is. So. Simple.

STEP TO PREPARE AIR FRYER DONUTS WITH GRANDS BISCUITS
- Preheat air fryer to 350.
- Pull biscuits out of can and separate.
- Using spoon or small circle cutter, cut center out of each biscuit (see photo). Set aside.
- Add donuts to air fryer, about 4-5 at a time.
- Cook for 2 minutes, flip, then 2 minutes more.
- Meanwhile, melt butter.
- Once golden brown, remove donuts from fryer and place on prepared cutting board or plated. Using pastry brush or spoon, lightly coat both sides of all donuts with melted butter.
- Continue with remaining donuts.
- Once all donuts are cooked, buttered, and cooled, you can dip them in the cinnamon sugar mixture or top with frosting and sprinkles.
- For strawberry frosting, whisk all ingredients until smooth. Dip donuts into bowl of frosting and place right side up on cooling rack or plate to solidify.
- For chocolate frosting, heat in 30 second intervals until chocolate starts to melt. Do not melt chocolate all the way in microwave, this will result in a grainy texture. Simply stir partially melted chocolate and vegetable oil until chocolate is all smooth liquid. Dip donuts in bowl of melted chocolate and place right side up on cooling rack or plate to solidify.
TIPS
- can swap out vanilla extract for strawberry flavoring in pink frosting
- with these particular biscuit donuts, thicker frosting seems to stick better
- use those leftover center dough balls– cook in air fryer for 3 minutes for donut holes!
