Cinco de Mayo is such a fun holiday– you’ve got an easy-going vibe, tasty snacks, and margaritas by the pitcher. Let’s be real, there really is no better party combo than chips and margaritas. I could live off of tortilla chips and fresh salsa. And Cinco de Mayo is actually the biggest holiday of the year for tequila!
Our favorite tequila for classic Margaritas is Sauza® Signature Blue Silver Tequila. It’s our go-to for a smooth flavor that everyone loves. We really love the dimension of flavors, and the key lime notes are amazing with the tequila. We’re big fans of margaritas in this house, and this combo gets served time and again. Don’t mess with a good thing, right?
INGREDIENTS NEEDED TO MAKE THESE DELICIOUS AGAVE MARGARITAS:
- 8 ounces silver tequila (I use Sauza)

- Salt for rimming
- juice of 2 limes (or to taste), plus lime wheels for garnish
HOW TO MAKE AGAVE MARGARITAS:

- Pour over ice into margarita glasses.
- Garnish each with a lime wheel on the rim and serve.
- Salt rim is optional.
For our Cinco de Mayo celebration, we served up classic Agave Margaritas, and added a variety of chips & salsa options. It really helps to pair things down to the essentials, especially when you want a casual get together– or you’re looking to highlight the drinks! With awesome margaritas at your party, you just need a few snacks to make it a fiesta!
We’re all about effortless entertaining at our house. The less we stress over party planning, more likely we are to host. Makes sense, right? Not to mention, simple get-togethers can be the most fun! Effortless party planning means having the basics covered (like an amazing marg) and adding a few touches to make your guests feel at home.

Party Size Drinks + Apps  Having a party spread with snacks guests can grab and munch at leisure lends itself to a chill atmosphere. We like to mix up Agave Margarita by the pitcher– it’s easier for the host, and creates a signature drink for your party!
Easy No-Cook Snacks Go for simple, uncomplicated snacks and finger food. We love to do a chips & salsa spread for our Cinco de Mayo because it’s a cinch to set-up. We always tortilla chips around for hosting friends and neighbors last minute. Whatever we don’t already have in our pantry can be easily picked-up at the local store. Try different flavors and varieties of dips for an eclectic mix of snacks.
Fresh Ingredients + Garnish Any good host knows that the secret to a fun party drink is the garnish. Use simple, fresh ingredients, and add a bit of flair for a memorable drink. We love lime sea salt for a zing of flavor in our margaritas.
Simple Decor Less is more, when it comes to effortless entertaining. Neutral colors and classic serving pieces win the day. To keep things simple; use what you have, whenever you can. I love my turquoise Mexican-inspired serving pieces for setting the scene. And how gorgeous are those napkins? I love the Mexican-inspired chic style.
