dairy free ice cream
My family LOVES to eat ice cream! Whenever I can make it a healthier version I am all for it. Plus, it only has 3 ingredients and you cannot go wrong there!
INGREDIENTS NEEDED TO MAKE VANILLA DAIRY FREE ICE CREAM:
2-14 oz cans, full-fat coconut milk (see directions)
½-3/4 cup, agave syrup, to taste (can also sub in honey)
2 tablespoon vanilla extract (also more or less for taste preference)
HOW TO MAKE VANILLA DAIRY FREE ICE CREAM:
- Be sure to use full fat coconut milk or coconut cream for best results. Flip cans over and open from the bottom. Spoon or pour out majority of clear liquid and add just creamy white part of coconut milk to recipe.
- Add all ingredients to food processor or blend and combine until smooth.
- Pour into freezer-safe container.
- Freeze for 4 hours or overnight and serve!
We’re not exclusively dairy-free in my family, but it is such a simple way to make things better for you! With so much less sugar, I can feel better giving it to my kids after dinner (and before bedtime)!
This is the perfect non-dairy treat for those who love ice cream. The vanilla extract hides any coconut flavor you get from the coconut milk, and it will fool any taste testers you have in the house.
handy tools to easily whip together this dairy free ice cream:
- loaf pans – best nonstick pans, easy to scoop out
- blender – sharp blade stays sharp and blends smoothly, sleek design for less space, easy to clean
