Oreo Cheesecake Mousse
I am one of those people who has to balance the sweet and salty. I don’t (always) need a huge dessert, but a couple bites to balance after a meal. This Oreo Mousse is perfect because it is sweet and you can grab just a couple scoops!
I love scooping my mousse up with some fresh fruit. My kids love it when I set up a mini brownie or 2 and put a dollop of mousse on top! They aren’t wrong. Whichever way you go, you will not be sorry. This dessert is so simple, so delicious and can really be served in so many ways!
INGREDIENTS NEEDED TO MAKE OREO MOUSSE:
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 8 oz cream cheese, roughly sliced into 2″ pieces
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 8 Oreo cookies, divided
HOW TO MAKE OREO MOUSSE:
- Add to a food processor or stand mixer: heavy cream, cream cheese, vanilla extract, powdered sugar, and half of the Oreo Cookies.
- Blend until smooth.
- Use spatula to move mousse to a bowl and (mostly) clean out food processor. Use processor to break down remaining Oreo cookies into large crumbs. (See photo. You can also add the cookies to a bag and crush with hands)
- Stir cookie pieces into mousse. You can serve immediately or refrigerate for 30 min-1 hr for more of a cheesecake texture.
Once you have added your ingredients to your food processor, blend it up really well. Transfer it to a bowl and pulse up your oreos. Stir it gently together and refrigerate.
Super thick mousse your style? You can start with a ½ cup of cream and then add more if it’s too thick.
If you prefer to portion as you go you can store this mousse in one bigger bowl in the refrigerator. Keep the crumbled Oreos nearby and you can just scoop and top whenever the craving hits. You can also portion it out into smaller, covered containers so you can just grab a jar and indulge!
Grab a little jar, some strawberries and sitting down to watch a show tonight…trust me!
handy tools to easily make this Oreo mousse:

- small jars – good for little desserts, treats, crafts
Frequently Asked Questions
Is chocolate mousse the same as pudding? Mousse is lighter and fluffier than pudding. They have similar ingredients, but pudding is meant to be quit thick and dense.
What goes well with mousse? You can eat mousse with brownies, fresh fruit, graham crackers or crumble cookies on top!
What is the difference between mousse and whipped cream? Whipped cream is just that, heavy cream that has been whipped (with a bit of sweetener). Mousse has whipped cream in it, along with other thickening ingredients.
