Toast up the sandwich at this point, until the cheese is melted.
Add some tomato slices, red onion, and then spread on your favorite toppings. Finish off with a light drizzle of olive oil and devour!
I usually slice up the subs into 2-3″ portions so they are easy for the kids to handle, and they’re fun to serve to guests this way! These sandwiches are so “fancy,” you can serve them for a party or tailgate and your guests will really be impressed.
handy tools to easily make these italian sub sandwiches:
- serrated knife – slice things without crushing them, sharp, dishwasher safe
- sheet pan – best non-stick, heavy duty, last forever
We love the Barilla Tomato Rosa sauce as a flavorful topping, but you can add whatever your family likes best– including oil and vinegar or even mayo.
