Foods that give you all the things in one are my favorite. Not only is it fun for the whole family, it is just easier on me! These Sausage Pigs in a Blanket are such a fun way to start your day. Throw some scrambled eggs on if you really want to get fancy.
My family loves to dip foods. We have all the condiments in the refrigerator, so this is the perfect addition to our breakfast rotation. These sausage bites are great with either a savory mustard dip or a sweet syrup – everyone will be happy! Plus, you can use whatever sausage works best for your family.
INGREDIENTS NEEDED TO MAKE SAUSAGE PIGS IN A BLANKET:
- 1 package, sausage (1 lb- 1 ½ lb)*
- 1 can, biscuit dough
- Optional, for dipping: maple syrup, mustard, or queso
HOW TO MAKE SAUSAGE PIGS IN A BLANKET:
- Cook up the sausages in a skillet for about 12-15 minutes or until center is no longer pink.
- Lay out sausages on a paper towel to drain and cool down a bit.
- Meanwhile, preheat oven according to biscuit package instructions.
- Roll sausages up in store-bought biscuit dough (see photo).
- Slice each into 4 pieces.
- Lay out on parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 11-15 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown.
- Allow to cool for 5 minutes.
- Serve with your favorite dips!
This recipe is pretty easy to make! Cook up your sausage, wrap in biscuit and bake. You can absolutely cook the sausage ahead – the night before if that allows you more time – and then just wrap and bake in the morning.
