    If there’s anything I love as much as fall season “homegating”, it’s simple recipes to serve family and friends when they come over for the big game! 

    We set-up a few easy appetizers and let everyone serve themselves as the game goes on. It’s a no-fuss way to host and enjoy the game at the same time. And paper plates & napkins, always. Fill up the cooler for your home gating party and you’re good-to-go! ​

    INGREDIENTS NEEDED TO MAKE THESE SMOKED SAUSAGE APPETIZERS:

    • 1 package Eckrich® Turkey Smoked Sausage
    • 8 oz roasted red peppers, chopped into bite-sized pieces
    • 6 mozzarella sticks, same as above
    • drizzle Italian dressing
    HOW TO MAKE THESE SMOKED SAUSAGE APPETIZERS:
    1. Heat up Eckrich® Turkey Smoked Sausage according to package instructions. Chop into bite-sized pieces. 
    2. Skewer 1 piece of smoked sausage, 1 piece of pepper, and 1 piece of cheese onto toothpicks. Repeat process with remaining ingredients.
    3. Drizzle plate with Italian dressing.

    Meanwhile, chop up roasted red peppers (you can roasted your own or buy the jarred kind) and mozzarella cheese sticks.

    Once the smoked sausage has cooled off, skewer a piece of pepper, mozzarella, and smoked sausage onto a toothpick. Let out the appetizer bites on a platter and finish off with a generous drizzle of Italian dressing. YUM.

    Place the sausage pieces in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the sausage pieces for five to seven minutes, or until browned on all sides. Turn the heat to low, and pour ½ cup water into the skillet with the Eckrich sausage. Cover the skillet with a lid and let the sausage cook for an additional 13 to 15 minutes.
