Everyone has different food they consider their comfort food. In general, it is hearty and warm food. My favorite is cheese! Cheesy casseroles, cheese and crackers, cheese sandwiches, all the cheese!!
My favorite cheese is a SHARP cheddar. I just love the tang, and bite you get when you eat it. That is why I love Cooper® Sharp cheeses. Cooper® Sharp is top-tier cheese. When you grab some from the deli, you know you’re getting quality—because Cooper® is made with milk and hand-selected aged cheese. No unpronounceable ingredients here!
Cooper® Sharp is sold regionally, primarily in the Northeast, but you can have it shipped right to your home! You don’t even have to leave your home for this tasty treat!
People love Cooper® because of its one-of-a-kind sharp flavor. Cooper® doesn’t taste like any other deli cheese, which is why it’s been a family tradition and favorite comfort food for generations.
Cooper® is creamy, flavorful, and exceptionally versatile. You can slice it, shred it, cube it, and it melts like a dream. That’s why Cooper® is perfect for grilled cheese, deli sandwiches, mac and cheese … burgers, salads, midnight snacks. Pretty much anything, really.
cheese filled pretzel bites
This recipe is quite simple and easy to make. The results are so delicious that once you make it you will fall in love with Cooper® cheese like I did!
INGREDIENTS NEEDED TO MAKE CHEESE STUFFED PRETZEL BITES:
pretzel bites
- 1- 14 oz container, ready-made pizza dough
- 8 oz Cooper® Sharp White Cheese, cut into 12 small cubes
- 1 Tbsp baking soda
- 1 egg, beaten with a splash of water
- 1 tsp of salt
cooper® cheese ale pretzel dip
- 2 cups, Cooper® Sharp White Cheese, shredded
- ⅓ cup, Pilsner beer
HOW TO MAKE CHEESE STUFFED PRETZEL BITES:
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
- Roll out pizza dough (if necessary) and use 3″ round biscuit cutter to make dough circles.
- Tuck a cube of cheese into each dough circle and roll up into a ball, pinching the edges closed.
- Lay out a sheet of parchment or wax paper on countertop.
- Bring 2 cups of water (or enough to cover the dough balls) to a boil in a saucepan.
- Sprinkle the baking soda into the water.
- Using a slotted spoon add the dough balls to the water and cook for 1-2 minutes, or until they puff up (if left in too long, they will lose their shape)
- Transfer dough balls to parchment paper (allows water to drain a bit), and then again to a prepared cookie sheet.
- Brush tops of dough balls with egg wash using pastry brush or spatula and sprinkle on salt.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown on top.
- Meanwhile, add cheese and beer to saucepan on stovetop. Heat on med/low and stir until smooth.
- Serve pretzel bites with dip and enjoy!
Your family is going to eat these as fast as you can make them. You will realize that perhaps a double (or triple) batch will best suit your family. This will easily become one of those recipes your kids will remember you making and will make for their kids too! Some of my favorite recipes from my mom are the simplest, no fuss recipes. They are the best!
I even love the family history and story behind Cooper®. In 1893, banker I.C. Cooper decided to put down his balance sheets and start making aged cheese in New York. Today, more than a century after I.C. Cooper first staked his claim in the chronicles of cheese history, Cooper® is a regional household favorite and a family tradition across the Northeast.
