Bourbon Fudge Recipe with Condensed Milk

Fudge is one of those recipes that everyone loves and there are a million varieties or methods of cooking. I have tried fudge many ways and I have landed on this Bourbon Fudge recipe that combines chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk. SO EASY.

Bourbon adds such a beautiful, rich flavor that beats plain fudge any day. Don’t worry, the alcohol cooks off so your kiddos are welcome to try and you can definitely steal all the fudge for yourself!

    Bourbon Fudge

This recipe is as easy as melt, mix, and cool! You really cannot go wrong here. If you are interested in taking this to the next level you can easily substitute ¾ bag of butterscotch chips for the ¾ bag of chocolate chips to add a delicious depth of flavor that compliments the Bourbon.

handy tools to easily make bourbon fudge:

    • 8×8 pan – best nonstick pan
    • silicone whisk – stir, whisk and scrape sides all at once.

    FAQs

Why is fudge crumbly? A lot of big crystals means you get dry, crumbly, grainy fudge. By letting the fudge cool undisturbed, you avoid creating seed crystals.

Why is it called fudge? Most believe the first batch was a result of a accidental “fudged” batch of caramels, hence the name “fudge”.

Can I use evaporated milk instead of condensed milk to make fudge? Unfortunately, there is no substitute for it in a fudge recipe. Be sure you do not confuse evaporated milk and sweetened condensed milk, as they are two entirely different products.
