Delicious, filling, and healthy! This Pumpkin Pie Protein Shake has all the best flavors of fall and it’ll keep you going until lunch.
Pumpkin Protein Smoothies
Gosh do I struggle with breakfast sometimes. I’m one of those people who NEEDS to eat in the morning, but nothing sounds good. I’m not a big egg person, but I know that I need protein to last me until lunch.
Enter this yummy protein smoothie. First off- it does not taste like a protein shake. That’s because most of the protein comes from Greek yogurt and the pumpkin puree. You can add protein powder if you really want to bump up the protein content, but it’s a perfectly filling and nutritious shake as is.
And it tastes just like fall. Pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, and maple syrup are so yummy this time of year. I love to pair this with coffee for a seasonal treat that satisfies.

How To Make a Pumpkin Pie Protein Shake
This recipe is all about a good blender. You can certainly use a powerhouse like this one, but I prefer the smaller ones that work hard and tuck nicely back in the cabinet.
Add these items to the blender: pumpkin puree, milk, maple syrup (see recipe for optional substitutions), pumpkin pie spice, Greek yogurt, and a whole graham cracker (break into pieces if necessary to fit).
Then blend, blend, blend! It’s a thick smoothie so you may need to shake the blender bottle a bit between blending sessions.
Now you can either pour into a thermal to-go cup or make it fancy! Trust me, it’s super easy.
Drizzle chocolate syrup into glass (see photos), then pour in smoothie. Top with whatever you love— I suggest whipped cream and a cookie! Yes I give myself a cookie for eating such a solid breakfast.
Cooking Tips
- Switch up the sweetener according to your preferences. Maple syrup, honey, agave, or even stevia will add the right sweetness. You want to add the equivalent of 1T of maple syrup.
- Want to bulk up the protein? Add a scoop of protein powder. Vanilla flavor tastes best in this recipe.
